Research Assistant/Coordinator Position-Brain and Cognitive Development Lab, University of Illinois
Dr. Dan Hyde is looking to hire someone to oversee ongoing research in the Brain and Cognitive Development Lab housed within the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Research in the lab investigates the neural basis of quantitative, spatial, and social cognition in infants, young children, and adults. Duties will include data collection using brain (EEG/ERP, fNIRS) and behavioral measures, undergraduate staff supervision/organization, as well as some community relations and recruitment work. Applicants should hold bachelor’s degree in psychology, neuroscience, or related field, have experience working in a professional setting with parents and children, be fluent with both Windows and Mac operating systems, as well as have relevant research experience in cognition, development, and/or neuroscience. Although not necessary, the ideal applicant will also have some experience with brain imaging/measures, basic computer programming skills (e.g., Matlab, Python), and a solid understanding of statistics. This is a one-year position with the possibility of a multiple-year renewal pending performance and funding. This is an hourly position that will require 35-40 hours of work per week. Start date is negotiable between April and July 2017, but there is a strong preference for earlier start date if possible. Pay is also negotiable but commensurate on experience.
