Lab Manager, Evolutionary Psychology Lab, Harvard University – Summer 2017 start

The Harvard Evolutionary Psychology Lab directed by Professor Max Krasnow is seeking a 28-hour per week research assistant/ lab manager to begin summer 2017. The Lab manager’s duties will include supporting the research of graduate students and postdocs (e.g., mentoring research assistants, assisting in data collection and analysis), conducting original research, and handling administrative duties (e.g., obtaining human subjects approval, recruiting and scheduling subjects, and managing lab finances). This position is ideal for individuals interested in developing a strong research background before applying to graduate school. Applicants should have a B.A. or B.S. in psychology, cognitive science, neuroscience, biology or a related field, by spring 2017. The successful applicant will possess excellent organizational and communication skills, must demonstrate the ability to work independently, will have a strong background in evolutionary and/or cognitive psychology, and previous independent research experience.  Proficiency with Word, Excel, Google docs/calendar, and Qualtrix is necessary for day-to-day functioning of the lab, as is familiarity with programs such as Eprime, SPSS, and/or R. The following experience is highly desired but not required: coursework or practical application of statistics; experience with IRB documentation, accounts management, programming. Start date is negotiable.
